Wish I could be as carefree as that. This photo of Ruth St. Denis really shows how much of a free spirit she was. She was a pioneer of the modern dance world and an innovator of what it means to dance. With her husband (that she later divorced), she formed the Denishawn School of Dance (created using their last names Denis and Shawn) which then proceeded to churn out some of the most influential and innovative dancers of our time before closing in 1931.
